HRMarketer Blog returns!
I used to watch the HRMarketer blog, but then it seemed they didn't post but twice a month for a long time. I got frustrated with forever going back to their site (this was in the days before Bloglines, kids!)
So it's great to see them back, and great to see astute financial analysis (which is pretty rare in our space) like this bit on IPOs in the HR Space: Should I Stay Private or Go Public?
This post on The 2005 SHRM Conference & Exposition: The Ghost of Boom Time Returns was fun, too.
San Diego was definitely huge, though 2005 felt more "Awards & Recognition" than "Recruiting" which is what I thought they felt like back in the boom.
The CareerBuilder booth that.... (they really need to provide a name with the person posting -- that's kind of Blog Standard: if they want to keep it secret at least they could give a persona to mention, like the Masked Blogger, or some such).. the anonymous blog poster mentions was even a bit more ingenious than mentioned.
Our TheLadders.com booth was kiddy-korner to theirs and they had two big lines all show: one for the chimp photos, the other for their spiked with highly addictive moonshine virgin daiquris.
But the greatest part was their very clever marketing tie-in on the chimp pictures. To get your picture, you had to log in to the CareerBuilder website.
Unlike a lot of hand-'em-out-and-hope-they-remember tchotckes, this was a great vehicle for CareerBuilder to re-open the conversation with each of their prospects. That's the best integrated use of a show gimmick by any company in our industry this year.
Great job CareerBuilder! And welcome back HR Marketer!
