I believed that employment agencies should respect and acknowledge unemployed who sent resume to them. They should at least let them know what happened, did it go to the company, reviewed then turned down. It should not be about selling resume. Unemployed don't have $200 to pay for resume making. We are all bombarded that there are jobs, companies are hiring but when you applied and you are not interested in their money making resume, most likely they will not even bother what happened to the positions you applied for. It is wrong. We applied and spent time, the employment agencies should give them the updates whether they are interested with you or not. That is mostly the complains of the applicants, no one ever bother to get back to them. But they took all the info about you: address, email, phone. These are important informations that can be sold to marketing companies. I hope not.

I am frustrated by the first question. I would like recruiters to know that I approach each work day with optimism and enthusiasm. However, my situation over the last two years has been either fully unemployed, temporarily employed, or underemployed. So, I am actively seeking new employment. None of the response options to the question "How do you feel about going to work every day?" are fully appropriate in reflecting my situation. Can you clarify what recruiters are actually seeking to learn through this question?

I had an interview set for today with one of your "elite group of skilled professionals who are hand-selected, trained, monitored and mentored by TheLadders.com", and I am quite appalled that you sent me someone that had no experience in my field. Not only did you waste my time & money, but I could lose opportunities that I expected to send resumes to this week. If I am not assigned a professional in my field today so a resume can be completed this week, I want a full refund.

Good emplressions need to work both ways. Why do interviews have to take place in some office where one person is usually sitting behind a desk. Why not at the coffee shop or some where more relaxed. Interviews are hard for both sides. The employers really do not want to listen to ten people talk about themselves all day. The applicant really is trying to read between the lines for what they think is being asked. Most applicants walk out of the office thinking that they "Just Blew It." If everyone were more relaxed then it may go better for both.

Another thing that anoys me is to spend an hour completing an application to receive an email that says, "Thanks for submitting your application. Your very important to us and we will have someone read through your application and get back with you if you are selected." Where does the first impressions fall? Not on the applicant by the employer but the Employer by the applicant.

I feel that the questions in interviews and on applications need to be more direct. If an employer wants to know if someone is willing to travel to Europe they should ask."Would you be willing to travel to Europe? If Yes why and if No why". Someone may have a fear of flying and if they feel that they are going to be forced to travel by flying then they may not really go after the position that only wants to know if they would travel to another town to conduct training.

Marc, Just for clarity: We should answer the "tell me about yourself" question w/ what's on our profile page? That would make it short & sweet. I always feel like I'm babbling and unsure if I'm telling the person what they want to hear.

Hello.

I have filled as could the questionnaire. But a question "How do you feel about going to work every day?" It is an incorrect question. All depends on that in what mood I go for work. And my mood depends on the relation to me of the employer and collective. That is if me respect as the person and the expert and listen to my opinion I have correctly answered this question if there is no that incorrectly. The answer to the third question depends on the same. It can be and such "That I hopefully will not be working here much longer!" As also the fourth.

On a question "What size company do you prefer? (# of employees)" I would answer me all the same, am certainly more pleasant and more interesting to be all as I was at very small enterprise but the most important thing for me it to be the professional, perfectly to carry out duties and constantly to improve the professional level. And the main thing studies on errors and is not ashamed of them, to try to do them as less as possible. To try to take and give that is will not hesitate to tell "I I do not know".И still is capable to give to work of all myself, only возмите. I know one if I come for work I work (that is completely I give myself to work to the rest) but if I do not come for work I do not work, this my credo.

Sincerely your Alexander Goldshlak.
